A Racing Fan’s Dream: The Daytona by Marriott

Racing fans dream at Daytona Hotel

We were hosted by The Daytona Hotel on a sponsored media visit for Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau , as always opinions are our own.

The Daytona International Speedway is home of the world’s most famous race, the Daytona 500. But within steps away of the “World Center of Racing”, you will see the passion for racing continues at Marriott’s The Daytona Hotel.

The Daytona Hotel is a brand new hotel that opened in April 2019.

We were so excited for the opportunity to stay there and explore One Daytona during our visit in Daytona Beach.

Boutique Rooms

There are 144 spacious rooms on the property with different room options including rooms with a king or queen bed, also rooms with a balcony.

They each have a living room/sitting area, mini fridge, 55” TV, free WiFi, air-conditioning, luxury bath products, Nespresso coffee maker and one of my favorite in-room gadgets – an iPad!

You could use it for checking the weather, ordering room service, and contacting the front desk for services.

The rooms have a mini bar which you could use at an additional cost to savor great wine, create in-room cocktails using the hotel’s provided cocktail recipes, or snack on the finest treats.

The view of the speedway from our window is very cool to see every day, especially when lit up at night.

We were also amazed at how spacious our room was!

Legendary Amenities and Service

The racing theme is seen throughout the property but in a clean and tasteful manner with subtle touches in their rooms, restaurant and we especially loved the race cars on display in the front desk lobby located on the 2nd floor with the bars and restaurant.

The hospitality is outstanding from friendly staff, to excellent service at their on-site restaurant Sir Malcolm and Blue Flame Bar. We ate breakfast both mornings of our stay. There is a breakfast buffet on weekends and weekdays it is a la carte.

Tristan and Meshach had the buffet while I ordered their Orange Bourbon French Toast – it was addictive!

Sir Malcom is a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner, while Blue Flame Bar serves lunch and dinner. Both allows you to access the hotel’s super chic outdoor terrace.

There is also a beautiful pool and lounge area, complimentary parking (valet is available for an additional cost), and fitness center.

One Daytona Convenience

The hotel is located on Victory Circle in the premiere dining and entertainment hub, One Daytona. If you stay at One Daytona Hotel you really would not have to go far for food, shopping and fun.

There are numerous restaurants, stores, bars, sweet shops, a cinema and Game Time – a popular family entertainment center. If you are a fan of arcade games, you could easily spend hours there. Tristan did not want to leave!

A couple of places we ate dinner at in One Daytona was P.F. Chang’s and Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery which had a cool rooftop bar.

Daytona International Speedway

A huge perk about staying at The Daytona Hotel is its close location to the Daytona International Speedway. You could even walk there!

Racing fans will love the close proximity of being able to visit this iconic racing venue. We took the 30 minute Speedway Tour which also gave us access to the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America – a museum dedicated to motor sport vehicles.

The Speedway Tour is on an open air tram operating rain or shine. It was one of the coolest things we did in Daytona Beach. We learned about the history of the Daytona International Speedway and the tram took also took us out on the field, getting a close look at the 31 degree banking turns (yes a steep – 31 degrees!)

It’s so crazy that the cars can drive on these turns!
