Afternoon Tea At Fairview Dining Room

We experienced this classic, English tradition on our stay at Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club. Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club graciously welcomed us as guests for a weekend stay at their resort. I could not wait to share these photos with you from our Afternoon Tea!

We were told that we would be sitting at a prime location in the restaurant and they were right! We loved our cozy corner table. It was surrounded by windows filled with natural light and it seemed to compliment our experience at Afternoon Tea.

Afternoon tea menu

After taking some suggestions from our wonderful server, Samantha, I chose the Spring Cherry Green Tea, my husband chose Vanilla and Almond tea.

Our pots of tea were served with a variety of finger sandwiches, sweets and scones.

Our three tier tray began with all things savory, transitioning to sweet!

Scones

Later into our tea, a basket of warm fresh baked scones were brought to our table. It was delicious! I believe there were lemon scones and blueberry scones in our basket.

Devonshire cream

Devonshire cream (clotted cream), lemon cream and raspberry jam accompanied almost every bite of our scones.

Afternoon Tea Time

Not to forget the highlight of this event – the tea! I think I will do a blog post in the future about the origin of Afternoon Tea – it’s a very interesting story! We sipped and enjoyed the sweet and earthy flavors of our teas. We tried each other’s tea – it was hard to decide which tea was better! The Vanilla had a nice, smooth earthy flavor and the Green Tea was sweet but subtle.

Fairview Dining

I highly recommend booking an Afternoon Tea at Fairview Dining Room. It’s also a great party idea for bridal showers, baby showers and group meet ups.

Thank you so much to Washington Duke Inn, our Afternoon Tea was a memorable experience!

Although we were kindly welcomed as guests, my opinions are always my own.
