Penske Trucks at Home Depot Kids Workshop

Holding Penske Truck

Over the weekend we went to another fun Home Depot Kids Workshop and this time the project was building a Penske truck.

I don’t know if you read about our experience at last month’s workshop, if not, you can read it here.

On our last visit, Tristan sat back and let Meshach do all of the building and painting. This time he helped out a little more.

Tristan really liked the painting part of the project. I think it was because it gave him an excuse to get his hands dirty. Luckily, the paint provided by Home Depot washed off very easily.

He has been playing with his new Penske truck all weekend. He likes to store it with small toys and Lego figurines. It’s just a matter of time before he starts losing them though!

At each workshop, kids will receive an apron, certificate of completion and a special pin for the project. They also get to bring their project home of course!

Tristan just caught on that his pins go on his apron so now he’s eager to collect as many as possible and pin them along the way.

In honor of back to school, the next Kids Workshop project in September is building pencil boxes.

Home Depot’s Kids Workshop is absolutely free! All you need to do is go online and register your child for the workshop. Then show up and sign in on the workshop date.

You do not have to bring tools to complete the project because it is provided. They will give you a kit with all of the parts needed for the project and there is a table with additional materials such as hammers, paint, glue, etc

The workshops are always on a Saturday and usually from 9a – noon. You can show up within that time frame however you should go early when it starts because it can get crowded.
